Dinner and overnight stay at a comfortable 3-star hotel such as Hotel Vaishali, Hotel Manang, or a similar category hotel in Kathmandu.
After an early breakfast, we begin the day with a spiritual sightseeing tour of Kathmandu, visiting sacred Hindu pilgrimage sites that hold deep significance before commencing the Yatra:
Pashupatinath Temple – One of the most revered temples of Lord Shiva in the world, located on the banks of the Bagmati River.
Jal Narayan Temple (Budhanilkantha) – A unique temple featuring a large statue of Lord Vishnu reclining on a bed of serpents in a water pond.
Other local spiritual or cultural spots may also be visited, depending on time and weather.
In the evening, complete your final packing and documentation for the Yatra. Our team will assist you in getting ready for the cross-border journey to Tibet.
After breakfast, we begin our scenic overland journey from Kathmandu to the Nepal–China border at Rasuwagadhi. The drive takes us through lush valleys, waterfalls, and winding mountain roads.
Upon reaching Rasuwagadhi, we will complete immigration and customs formalities at the border. Once cleared, we cross into Tibet (China) and continue our journey by Chinese vehicles toward Gyirong Town (2800M), our first overnight halt in Tibet.
The change in altitude will begin here, so we recommend resting well and keeping hydrated for proper acclimatization.
Dinner and overnight stay at a standard hotel in Gyirong.
After breakfast at Gyirong, we resume our journey deeper into the Tibetan Plateau as we drive toward Zhongba, covering approximately 300 km.
This stretch offers incredible views of the high-altitude landscape — rugged mountains, serene lakes, and vast open spaces that begin to reveal the remoteness and spiritual serenity of Tibet.
We gradually ascend to 4580 meters, so it is important to rest well, stay hydrated, and avoid physical exertion to allow your body to continue acclimatizing to the increasing altitude.
Dinner and overnight stay at a basic but comfortable hotel in Zhongba.
Today is a spiritually significant day as we journey toward the sacred Lake Manasarovar — one of the highest freshwater lakes in the world, situated at an altitude of 4500 meters.
The drive from Zhongba takes us through stark yet breathtaking Tibetan landscapes. As you approach Manasarovar, get your first glimpse of Mount Kailash in the distance — a deeply moving and emotional moment for many pilgrims.
Upon arrival, we check into a simple guesthouse near the lake. Use this time to rest, reflect, and prepare for the holy rituals to be performed the following day.
The sacred energy of this place is believed to purify the soul and connect you with divine consciousness.
Dinner and overnight stay at a guesthouse near Lake Manasarovar.
Wake up to the tranquil sunrise over Lake Manasarovar, a truly divine experience. After breakfast, we begin the Parikrama (circumambulation) of the sacred lake by vehicle, soaking in the spiritual vibrations of the holy surroundings.
At a suitable spot along the lake, you’ll have the opportunity to:
Take a holy dip in the pristine waters of Manasarovar — believed to cleanse sins of many lifetimes
Perform Puja and meditation by the lakeside with your fellow yatris
Collect Manasarovar water to carry home as a spiritual souvenir
Later in the day, we drive to Darchen (4560M), the base town for Mount Kailash Parikrama. Use the evening to rest and prepare for the trek beginning the next day.
Dinner and overnight stay at a 2-star hotel in Darchen.
After an early breakfast, we take a short drive from Darchen to Shershong, about 12 km away. This marks the starting point of your sacred Kailash Parikrama trek.
The trek today leads to Dirapuk, situated at an altitude of 4765 meters. The trail ascends gradually, passing through stunning high-altitude landscapes and offering awe-inspiring views of Mount Kailash.
Stay alert for breathtaking spiritual landmarks and enjoy the serenity of this remote mountain region as you journey closer to the holy mountain.
Dinner and overnight stay at a guesthouse in Dirapuk.
Today’s trek is the most challenging yet spiritually rewarding segment of the Kailash Parikrama.
Begin with a 7 km uphill climb to the sacred Drolma-la Pass, towering at 5610 meters — the highest point of the entire pilgrimage. This pass is named after the Tibetan goddess Tara (Drolma), symbolizing protection and compassion. At the summit, pause to absorb the breathtaking panoramic views and reflect on the profound spiritual significance of your journey.
Next, descend 15 km downhill to Zuthul-Puk, a serene cave area at 4700 meters, believed to be a meditation spot for ancient yogis and saints.
Dinner and overnight stay at a guesthouse in Zuthul-Puk.
Today marks the completion of the sacred Kailash Parikrama as we trek back to Darchen, covering the final stretch of the circumambulation.
Enjoy the serene mountain views and reflect on the spiritual journey as you return to the base camp.
Dinner and overnight stay at a 2-3 star hotel in Darchen.
After breakfast, we begin our return journey from Darchen, driving to Saga, located at an altitude of 4510 meters. Depending on the travel pace and road conditions, we may also stay overnight at Zhongba (4580M) to aid in acclimatization and rest.
This route offers more stunning views of the Tibetan Plateau, with ample opportunities to capture the beauty of the vast landscapes one last time.
Dinner and overnight stay at a comfortable hotel in Saga or Zhongba.
After breakfast, we continue our descent from Saga/Zhongba back to Gyirong at 2800 meters. Enjoy the changing landscapes as you leave the high plateau behind and enter the greener valleys of Tibet.
This day allows your body to acclimatize to the lower altitude as you prepare for crossing back into Nepal.
Dinner and overnight stay at a 2-star hotel in Gyirong.
Today we cross the Gyirong border to exit China and enter Nepal at Rasuwagadhi port. After completing immigration and customs formalities, we drive back to Kathmandu.
Enjoy the scenic drive as you descend into the lush Nepali landscape, reflecting on the profound spiritual journey you’ve completed.
Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel Vaishali, Manang, or similar in Kathmandu.
After breakfast, check out from your hotel. You will be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward flight back home.
